The SHINJO family is a remarkable family that has built a tradition in martial arts over 3 generations.

The first, Seiryo SHINJO , entered the Kanbun UECHI school in Wakayama in 1934, and the second, Seiyu SHINJO , also entered this school in 1939. Both father and son SHINJO were always close to their master Kanbun UECHI and were thus greatly guided by him, both in spirit and technique. The third, Kiyohide SHINJO, began karate with his master and father, Seiyu SHINJO, in 1960.

Takemi TAKAYASU

In France, it was Master Takemi TAKAYASU who, after settling in Paris in 1983, founded Uechi-Ryu Kenyukai France in 1986. He participated in numerous demonstrations, including the Martial Arts Festival on several occasions, and was featured on the cover of the world magazine of Budo and Karate-Bushido in France.

He opened several dojos in the Paris region and in France, but he also became the European Technical Director for the Kenyukai branch, in Spain, France and Germany.
